2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class vs. 2022 Chevrolet Malibu

Learn More View Inventory Contact Us Mercedes-Benz and Chevrolet are two of the oldest and most respected automakers globally, so the release of their new compacts, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class and 2022 Chevrolet Malibu, is a big deal. Both cars have been selling well since their release, but which one should you choose? This comparison will help you decide by comparing all of the major features that both cars offer. We'll take a look at the design, interior space, performance, and more to show you why choosing the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class over the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu will make you love it as the winner. Design & Style Exterior Design Both 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class and 2022 Chevrolet Malibu have a sporty look and feel, which gives them an aura of being prepared for action no matter where they go. The headlights on both vehicles are rectangular instead of round, but both of them also have LED lighting that gives off a stylish effect when in use. And speaking of effects, all exterior indicators on each vehicle come with LED lights for a futuristic appeal to each one's overall design—and there is nothing out there like either of these two cars! On top of their sleek and aggressive exteriors, both vehicles also come with tinted windows so you can remain private wherever you go and add further protection from sun exposure if that's what you prefer! Interior Design This is going to be a very exciting battle, as these two cars are so similar in almost every regard that they might as well be called twins! If you're looking for an interior with more than one color of paint available, then you should go with the 2022 A-Class, since it offers three colors of leather and four colors of wood veneer, along with two different kinds of aluminum to choose from. On top of that, it also gives you nine ways to adjust your seats! In comparison, the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu has just five colors available for leather and four colors for its wood veneer option. Technology & Safety The most significant difference between the two cars is that the Mercedes-Benz A-Class comes standard with hands-free technology and a lane assist system, which is extremely useful in congested traffic or for driving in unfamiliar terrain. Although both vehicles are equipped with safety features that protect passengers and drivers from injury in case of an accident, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class has more advanced features than the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu. Drivers can prevent and respond to accidents with these features in place without sacrificing vehicle safety before police arrive on the scene. Performance Both 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class and 2022 Chevrolet Malibu are equipped with a 188 @ 5,800 rpm horsepower engine, and in base form, they can reach 0 to 60 mph in 11 seconds (2022 MB) and 13 seconds (2022 Chevy). The difference here is that the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class features a supercharged, turbocharged 2.0L 4 Cylinder, while the 2022 Chevy has a naturally aspirated 1.5L DOHC I4 Turbo engine. Hence, overall performance is close but not equal. Also, at high speeds, you'll notice that your 2100 MB can pull away from your 2022 Chevy without much effort on its supercharger. The Bottom Line The 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class may not have all of its competition's safety, entertainment, and practical features. Still, it compensates with a bold new design and captivating performance to get people in and keep them there—and that's precisely what car buyers want right now. If you don't need as much space as competitors provide, or you're looking for a unique style that'll turn heads, then look no further than the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class. How To Improve Fuel Efficiency For Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

It is undeniable that fuel-efficient cars can save you money on routine fill-ups over time. Every vehicle owner should prepare in advance by prioritizing fuel economy over gas prices, which fluctuate unexpectedly. Purchasing an automobile involves many financial considerations, including fuel efficiency. The truth is that acquiring an automobile with better gas mileage can save you thousands of dollars in the long run. Mercedes-Benz models are fuel-efficient themselves but everyone would like to improve their vehicle's fuel economy. There are several small improvements you can make to increase your vehicle's fuel efficiency. Save money and the environment by incorporating these simple tips into your driving. Learn how to improve fuel efficiency for Mercedes-Benz vehicles by following these tips. Inspect Tire Condition and Pressures Inflating tires incorrectly can adversely affect a car's mileage as well as cause uneven and premature tread wear. Under-inflated tires will reduce a vehicle's mileage by 2.8 percent. Using a tire gauge, check tire pressure frequently, as it can change with a temperature change. Make sure your Mercedes-Benz tires are properly inflated according to Mercedes-Benz's recommended PSI. Align the Wheels Your vehicle's wheel alignment can easily be thrown out of whack by driving over potholes created during the winter months. Not only does this increase tire wear, but it also forces the engine to work harder, which can reduce gas mileage. Making Sure You Use the Right Engine Air Filter and Oil Use the motor oil viscosity recommended by Mercedes-Benz. A vehicle's fuel economy can be reduced if you use the wrong engine oil, and even further if you use the wrong air filter. Maintain a Clean, Efficient Fuel System and Use the Correct Fuel Octane Level Mercedes-Benz engines are engineered to be most efficient when fuelled with 91 Octane. Your vehicle's fuel economy, throttle response, and engine performance will be improved with a regular fuel system service. Dispose of Roof Racks and Boxes and Clean Out the Trunk It is easy to boost fuel economy in a vehicle by reducing its weight. The junk in your trunk can increase your vehicle's energy consumption if you carry additional cargo. Fuel economy will be reduced dramatically by roof racks and boxes as they increase coefficient drag. Charge Your Battery Fully Mercedes-Benz Eco Start Stop is an excellent way to save gas, as it automatically shuts off your car's engine when you wait at a curb or at an extended stoplight. Idling cars get zero kilometers per liter because they do not use any fuel. It's unnecessary and fuel-inefficient to warm up your car before driving. Ensure a smooth drive In reality, heavy acceleration and sudden braking like quick launching and hard braking into sharp curves simply waste the fuel your car uses to get up to speed. Drive smoothly on the road by anticipating traffic movements and braking as little as possible. Keep stunt driving for the track. Remember, a reduction of five miles per hour in highway speed can reduce your vehicle's fuel consumption by 7 percent. Conclusion If you are worried about fluctuating gas prices, make use of the above tips to improve your car’s gas mileage. All of these are inexpensive and easy to implement.

The Mercedes-Benz Project SMNR with Riot Games

Mercedes-Benz has been expanding their horizons and dipping their toes into the cyber world as their beautiful fleet of electric vehicles land into local showrooms and gain traction on Long Island roads. In August, Mercedes-Benz had announced their plans to launch their own independent Operating System, MB.OS. in 2024! In September, Mercedes-Benz renewed their partnership with Riot Games until 2025! From September 29th to November 5th, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-EQ teamed up with the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, or Worlds for short. Mercedes-Benz has been the sole automotive partner of the League of Legends Worlds Championship. Worlds 2022 boasted its arrival at the Arena Esports Stadium at Artz Pedregal in Mexico City, Mexico on September 29th and stayed for play-ins until October 4th. From October 7th-10th, 13th-16th, and 20th-23rd, the entire championships' roster was located at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City (for the groups and quarter-finals), the Semi-Finals were on October 29th and 30th and were located at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The Finals concluded on November 5th at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. This incredible next-generational event had 3 special features and events that have occurred over 37 days. The first spotlight to shine on Mercedes-Benz was the constant presence and awareness of the new all-electric luxury SUV from Mercedes-EQ, the Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV. Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is honored to share that the Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV carried the Summoner’s Cup, the official trophy of the League of Legends World Championship, throughout every bracket and second of the tournament. The Summoner’s Cup was handcrafted by Tiffany and Co., stands approx. 27” tall and is made of sterling and fine silver. View this post on Instagram A post shared by 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬-𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐳 𝐔𝐒𝐀 (@mercedesbenzusa) The second special event is the first-ever virtual car show by Mercedes-Benz. On November 5th, Mercedes-Benz presented the Mercedes-Benz Project SMNR (“Summoner”) Concept vehicle. This innovative idea of a vehicle is supported by abstract energy, all thanks to limitlessness of the virtual design space. "For the first time, we were able to set aside the boundaries of materiality and physics and give free rein to our creativity. Because of the virtual space, there are no limits to what we can create…This endeavor to continuously develop our design and to constantly challenge ourselves in a new way manifests itself in Project SMNR. We give our creativity the space for the unexpected." -Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes‑Benz Group AG. View this post on Instagram A post shared by 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬-𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐳 𝐔𝐒𝐀 (@mercedesbenzusa) The main supporting element of the design of Project SMNR is the “ Energetic Core.” This is a solid core that dominates the dynamic design language and defines the vehicle’s character. The secondary, and equally important, supporting element are the “ Zoning Molecules”, these are the vehicle’s energy source. They are free-flowing particles that live on a semi-transparent layer of molecules that can permanently adapt to the environment. The Mercedes-Benz Project SMNR is driven by the energy of the worldwide fan community: Each player and their avatar, called 'Summoner', are represented by an energy particle in the vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz Project SMNR bridged the gap and redefined the boundary between reality and fiction. You can see the crazy-cool concept vehicle in the 2022 World’s official music video, “STAR WALKIN” by Lil Nas X, the new League of Legends President. Lil Nas X also performed "STAR WALKIN" during the Worlds 2022 Finals Opening Ceremony, he performed alongside Jackson Wang and Edda Hayes. The third special element stemming from the Worlds 2022 Championship is the incorporation of various League of Legends design elements on the Mercedes-EQ EQS MBUX infotainment systems. On November 3rd, these pixels were installed automatically onto MBUX dashboards in San Francisco! Mercedes-Benz has really leveled up the overall expectations of truly letting creativity run free! Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is looking forward to tagging along with Mercedes-EQ and seeing where all this accumulated experience will level up to next! To get your own piece of utmost intelligence and innovation, visit our showroom or contact our Sales Department for any EV inquiries! Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is proud to always offer The Best or Nothing!

2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS vs. 2022 Infiniti QX80

Learn More View Inventory Contact Us Regarding SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Infiniti QX80 are two of the most popular choices on the market. They both have similar price points and many similarities with their engines, safety features, and interior design. However, some key differences between these vehicles may sway your decision one way or another. Look at this comparison to see which SUV might be proper for you! Design & Style Exterior Design If you're looking for a unique exterior design vehicle, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS may not be your best option. While it looks stylish, the overall shape is similar to other SUVs on the market. However, if you want an SUV that looks like an SUV but performs like a sports car, this is one to consider! The 2022 Infiniti QX80 is another vehicle that doesn't have much of an identity regarding its appearance and design. It's certainly not ugly by any means—but there are no distinguishing features or characteristics (other than those few LED lights). But don't worry: The QX80 has plenty of power under its hood and can tow up to 9500 lbs! Interior Design The interior of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS is a pleasant place to spend time. The seats are comfortable, and there's plenty of room for tall drivers. The front seats have massage functions, which can be helpful on long trips. Two adults will fit easily in the backseat, but it gets tight for three adults. The Infiniti QX80 has plenty of room in its second row, but the seats don't have massage functions and are less comfortable than those found in the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The third row is also cramped compared to what you'll find in other large SUVs like this one; two kids should fit comfortably here, but three adults won't be able to fit at all. Technology & Safety The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS is one of the most technologically advanced cars you can buy. It has an impressive amount of safety features that help keep you from getting into accidents, and it's loaded with tech that enables you to stay connected and entertained on the go. The standard factory warranty for this car covers repairs for up to seven years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first), which means that if anything breaks during that period, it'll be fixed free of charge by the dealership or at your home garage. The 2022 Infiniti QX80 has a full suite of active safety features like automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. Still, they don't offer any special coverage outside what you'd expect from every other new vehicle in its class (which is pretty good!). Performance The GLS's engine is a 33.0L I-6 Engine that produces 362 horsepower and 362 lb-ft of torque, while the QX80's 3.0L twin-turbocharged cV6 engine makes 300 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque. This means that both vehicles can achieve similar accelerations, but the GLS has a slight edge on top speed (124 miles per hour versus 120). The Bottom Line The GLS is the better vehicle overall, and it's not even close. The QX80 is slow, and its interior isn't as nice, while the GLS is luxurious and quick with many features. If you want to drive something that will turn heads and make people envious, the Mercedes-Benz GLS is the way to go. Ready to Schedule a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS Test Drive Today? 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE vs. 2022 Land Rover Defender

Learn More View Inventory Contact Us For decades, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover have vied for supremacy in the luxury SUV market. Now both brands are about to change. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE promises more power, better efficiency, and a lighter chassis than its predecessor; meanwhile, Land Rover is working on an all-new Defender model that hit showrooms this year. Here we compare the two vehicles side by side to see which one will win over consumers as they enter a new era of design innovation and technology integration: Design & Style Exterior Design The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE has an aggressive exterior design, a long hood, a fastback roof, and rugged body cladding. The vehicle's front end features a wide grille with horizontal LED headlights on either side. Regarding the side profile, the SUV has muscular wheel arches extending down towards its rocker panels, giving it a muscular appearance. Finally, at the rear end of this SUV are dual exhaust tips mounted within vertical slats on either side of its bumper. Its competitor from, Land Rover, is not too shabby in aesthetics either! The Defender features angular headlights with LED daytime running lights (DRL). Its front grille is also quite large, but less so than the GLE. This SUV has conventional round tail lamps while its sloped roofline extends downward towards its rear end, where you'll find small taillights and twin exhaust pipes positioned behind them. Interior Design The interior design of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is much more luxury than its predecessor. The dashboard is a modern, clean design and there are many buttons for driver controls. There's also a large display screen in the middle, which would be perfect for watching videos on long trips. The Land Rover Defender's interior features classic styling with multiple knobs, buttons, and levers that all seem to be in the right place to make driving easy and fun. The center console has storage space underneath it as well as cup holders, so you can store snacks or drinks while enjoying your drive through nature! Technology & Safety The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE and the 2022 Land Rover Defender are both packed with technology, but they differ in their approach to safety. The Defender offers a more comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems than the GLE. However, while some of these features might be useful, others don't work well enough to justify their added cost and complexity. The Defender also lacks some standard safety equipment that may be important for your family's needs or budget. Performance The GLE's engine has a max horsepower of 483, while the Defender can produce up to 516. The GLE does have a better 0-60 mph time than the Defender at 6.4 seconds compared to 6.5 seconds for the Defender. But, when it comes to top speed, both vehicles are limited to 112 miles per hour (180 km/h). The Bottom Line At the end of the day, it's clear that the Mercedes-Benz GLE is a better car than the Land Rover Defender. It offers more comfort, more technology, and more style. It's also safer and more dependable. If you're looking for a vehicle with genuine off-road capabilities, you can find those in other models from Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover—and many other brands as well. But if you want an SUV that will get you from point A to B while keeping up with your busy lifestyle and still providing all of the luxuries features you've come to expect from premium automakers like Mercedes-Benz or Jaguar Land Rover (the parent company of Land Rover), then there's no better choice than either of these two vehicles. Ready to Schedule a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE Test Drive Today? Is Your Mercedes-Benz Car Lock Faulty?

Even the most basic entry-level econoboxes now come standard with power locks, but that doesn't mean there aren't still issues with your car's most fundamental security measure. In reality, keyless entry implies that there are more components within your automobile than there would have been with conventional analog locks. Here are six common causes why your Mercedes-Benz car lock is faulty and may not be functioning if you're having trouble getting in and out of your car as a result of a power lock issue. Key Fob Has No Battery Your issue could be resolved by doing a quick key fob battery replacement. Batteries are commonly coin-type, however, for a precise quantity, see your owner's handbook. Alternatively, take out the flat battery from the keychain; the battery's size is usually written there. To discover how to access the fob, you might need to consult the instructions or the internet. Your Car’s Fuse is Blown The easiest option after that may be a broken fuse. Testing your power door lock circuit before taking your car to the dealer might save you money on the visit. Fuse boxes are normally hidden behind a plastic panel under the driver's side floorboard and are typically easy to access; your owner's handbook should direct you to their precise position. Following the removal of the fuse box lid, you should find a schematic illustrating the various fuses' operations within the lid or in the owner's handbook. Find the one that matches the door locks. A blown fuse will have a gap that is obvious. Make careful you use a new fuse with the same amperage to replace the old one. The Key Fob is Malfunctioning Unfortunately, key remotes are a little trickier to use than regular keys. You'll have to take the fob to your manufacturer for a diagnosis if the battery isn't the problem. To determine if the key fob is still transmitting the right signal, they will attach it to a computer. The fob will need to be changed. Malfunctioning Solenoid A solenoid within your car doors receives a signal when you push a button on a key fob. The solenoid converts the electrical signal into a mechanical means, in this example moving a steel rod, which was formerly accomplished by turning a key in a keyhole. The interior door panel must be removed in order to replace the solenoid in a door that won't lock or unlock. Broken Rod or Connector There is always the chance that one of the above-mentioned rods or the plastic connections has cracked, even if this is less plausible than an electrical problem. The inner and outside door handles and locks are connected to the controls on the door panel by a network of hardware. Plastic might become brittle and harden with time, or frequent opening and shutting of the window can cause muck to seep into the door and gather there. Similar to the solenoid replacement, this will need to have the inner door panel removed in order to diagnose and repair, however, any issues will be obvious to the unaided eye. Electrical Issues If none of the aforementioned solutions work, there could be an electrical issue. Every electrical component needs a logic board and a cable that leads to a power source at the end (the battery). Problems might be brought on by a broken cable or a faulty logic board. If the lock and open functions operate sporadically, there may be an electrical fault in the system caused by worn-down plastic wire insulation. The cable can be damaged if it has completely stopped working.

How To Reset Mercedes-Benz Check Engine Light

Are you facing difficulties with resetting your Mercedes-Benz check engine lights? This guide will cover step-by-step instructions on how to do so with and without a scanner. But first, you must be certain that the check engine light is only in need of a reset and is not still attempting to signal a problem. If the check engine light on your Mercedes-Benz is on, one of the following problems is probably to blame including a damaged or loosened fuel cap, oxygen (O2) sensor failure or a catalytic converter that is clogged or broken. Some other issues that may cause faulty engine lights also include faulty mass air flow detectors, and damaged or worn-out spark plugs. Guide on Resetting Your Mercedes-Benz Check Engine Light Here’s a quick guide if you want to fix your engine light by yourself. There are two methods by which you can do so. You might need to do a manual reset once the operation is finished if you tried to fix a check engine light at home. Using a scanner is the first method for turning off the check engine light on a Mercedes-Benz. Simply connect it in, read the appropriate codes, and then hit "clear" or "reset" if you have one. It should activate as long as the programming issue has been fixed. Even if the majority of Norwalk drivers lack an OBD II diagnostic scanner, a check engine light may still be turned off by cutting the negative battery wire. Here's a safe method for turning off your check engine light. You need to put on gloves and safety glasses (for safety purposes). Open the hood after turning off the ignition and then determine the negative terminal on the battery by locating it. It is often indicated with a negative (-) symbol and/or is black. Next, using a wrench, disconnect the cable from the termination. For the following 30 to 60 seconds, hold the negative cord to the side. Make sure the cords don't come in contact. This lights a fire so be careful. If you have a buddy nearby, ask them to blow the car's horn to use up any extra energy. With that done and said, the terminals of the battery cable are back together. Your car's check engine light shouldn't come on when you restart it. Remember that some infotainment systems may reset simultaneously with the battery being disconnected. Alternatively, you may also seek an automobile service centre for more details and experienced assistance. Seeking Other Help What if you would want to seek more professional help and assistance? Where can you make an appointment for servicing your Mercedes-Benz check engine light? It is highly recommended that you get your Mercedes-Benz engine light evaluated before attempting a reset. Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown would be one of the best choices to make for sure. We can quickly discover underlying problems with the help of our sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Not to mention, we are also extremely well-equipped with both the knowledge and experience to deal with any difficulties we find. Naturally, once we're done with the procedure, we will reset your Mercedes-Benz check engine light. You can schedule an appointment here with us.

How To Identify Mercedes-Benz Intermittent HID Headlight Issues

High-intensity discharge (HID) headlights sprang into popularity a few years ago. The new design has a much longer lifespan and offers improved light amount and quality. People started installing HID systems into vehicles that weren't made for these lights as soon as aftermarket kits reached the market, which led to a host of issues and a ton of misinformation. Drivers all across the world frequently rail against aftermarket HID systems. They frequently beam directly into oncoming lanes, blinding motorists, or sway back and forth. Flickering lights, sporadically functioning bulbs, and abrupt system failure are just a few of the other issues that might occur. Numerous solutions have been proposed due to the amount of aggravation experienced by drivers and installers who deal with the usual issues with aftermarket HID light packages. Some of the do-it-yourself HID troubleshooting techniques are effective, while others are less so. This troubleshooting guide was created to assist the typical DIYer or installer who is dealing with issues or wants to install a Mercedes-Benz Intermittent HID headlight system while avoiding typical errors that cause problems. Problems with Ground Connection The ground connection should be looked into first. This has to be tightly fastened to a metal structural component of the vehicle. Installers frequently make the error of failing to clean the ground contact point of paint, corrosion, and dirt. To get clean, shining metal, you should use a wire brush, a grinder, or sanding to remove everything on the surface. Before replacing the bolt or screw, coat the surface with a thin layer of dielectric oil to prevent corrosion and promote good ground. Instead of modifying the car to accommodate a new ground connection for the headlights, some installers choose to tap into an already-existing ground wire. This strategy does, on occasion, work perfectly but not always. Improper Crimping Work You must look at the other connections after ruling out issues with the ground connection. The specific HID headlamp configuration will include at least one power cord that normally makes use of the lamps' OEM power connections. Problems are more likely when installers have to replace the stock plug terminals with aftermarket ones. There are a few methods you may use to check for connectivity issues. The first involves just grasping the connector and giving the wire a light twist. If it separates, the connection is weak. Many intermittent light problems, including flickering lights, are caused by loose, improperly made crimp connections. HID Headlights Bouncing or Shaking When adding aftermarket HID headlights, this is by far the most annoying problem to fix. The difference in how headlamp housings are constructed is the fundamental problem. In order to focus the light from the halogen bulb, headlights require a thin reflector. Small electric motors are used in many contemporary automobiles to manually level and steady the light beam. HID headlight projectors weigh a lot more than the original assembly, which is an issue. The HID assembly's weight is just too much for the factory self-levelers to support, which leads to the suspension failing. Depending on how the original equipment was built, the solution to this issue may be straightforward or difficult. Finding a stable mounting solution for the HID light is your best option. This will lessen jiggling and bouncing. Finding a location on the car where straps, hooks, or some other anchoring mechanism can be installed is the key to getting rid of the auto-levelers. You must include a technique for manually adjusting the beam.

Previewing the 2023 Mercedes-EQ EQE

Mercedes-EQ has officially given our customers on Long Island, in New York, and in the United States a preview of the 2023 Mercedes-EQ EQE from Mercedes-Benz! This all-electric sedan is about the same size as our beloved E-Class sedans. Why Is My Mercedes-Benz Steering Wheel Vibrating?

If you find yourself driving along and you experience your steering wheel vibrating, you may be wondering what's going on. Sometimes this happens at higher speeds, sometimes lower speeds, depending on the problem. You may also notice your steering pulling to one side or shaking. A problem with your steering could have something to do with your brakes, your tires, or something else. Regardless, it could lead to larger issues if you don't get it checked out sooner than later. If your steering wheel is shaking, pulling, or vibrating, what might the problem be? Let's look at some causes and then where to go to get your Mercedes-Benz steering problem checked out. Problems with Your Vehicle's Suspension Your vehicle and its tires are connected through a networking system involving your vehicle’s suspension. This includes springs/coils, bushings, joints, shock absorbers, and more. The handling of your vehicle can be thrown off by a problem with any one of these components. If you rule out everything below, there's a good bet that here is where the problem lies. A Brake Caliper Is Sticking Your vehicle’s brake pads are held by calipers. If a caliper seizes, handling problems can result. Caliper issues can show up as pulling or shaking in your steering wheel. Rather than when you brake, this will be noticeable when you drive. Caliper issues need to be taken care of immediately. If a seized caliper goes unrepaired, not only is it hard on your engine, it's bad for your tires, fuel economy, your braking system, and more. Your Tires Aren't Balanced Ideally, at the same speed, the rotation of all four tires coordinate. Keeping them in balance encourages this. However, inflation differences, rough driving patterns, poor road conditions, seasonal changes, and more can cause your tires to become unbalanced. Steering wheel vibrations can result because unbalanced tires have an impact on your axle and suspension. Tire balancing services done on a routine basis can help you prevent or repair this issue. Problems with Alignment The road’s pavement should be evenly met by your tires. Road hazards, rough driving, road turbulence, etc. can throw your wheel alignment off. When this happens, at a skewed angle, your wheels operate improperly. Vibrations or shaking in your steering wheel can be caused by even a minor problem with alignment. Brake Rotors May Be Warped When you stop or slow your vehicle, if your steering shakes, your brake rotors may be warped. Ordinarily, to stop your movement or slow down, your brake pads press against the flat, smooth surface of your rotors. Heat is generated by this action which can affect the metal in your rotors. Eventually, they may bend under pressure. The steering shakes because there is not an even surface for the brake pads to press against. Do You Need Your Mercedes-Benz Steering Looked at?
