Mercedes- Benz of Smithtown is proud to announce their partnership with the McNamara Charity Golf Group. This fundraiser has been helping benefit veteran charities, veterans and their families for over 12 years. Many have experienced major financial setbacks with Covid in the last two years. This cause hits close to home for the strong veteran himself. Christopher T. McNamara has served in the U.S. Air Force. His family is deeply rooted through generations in the military service. Learning from his own experience as well as his family, McNamara knows how fortunate it is to make it home after being in service. Though this is something to be happy about, many come home with physical life changing injuries as well as invisible traumas that stay with them everyday that can’t be fixed with a cast like a broken arm. Internal Traumas that are life changing. Through this, it is common for many of these men and women to suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brian Injury (TBI). No one will ever know what these brave veterans have seen or experienced during their time in service. After their return many find it hard to come back to normal life or the life they once knew, without having memories or flashbacks of these traumatic times. This is the perfect opportunity to show your support for those that sacrificed so much for our freedom. Veterans have been provided with service dogs rescued from kill shelters. This is a great way to save two lives. The care for these precious pups is covered for life by mobile vans “Paws of War”. Disabled veterans are also provided with Action Trackchairs, which allow them the liberty of enjoying the outdoors and getting a bit of fresh a ir. Their strength and courage is inspirationally motivating. Throughout the last 10 outings, this organization has raised $600,000 for these indestructible veterans but we don’t plan on stopping there. Attention: All Long Islanders, Do you love horses? Of course you do, who wouldn’t! Mercedes- Benz of Smithtown is excited to announce its partnership with LIPHA (Long Island Professional Horsemen’s Association). This association helps gather professional horsemen, exhibitors and members for important horse events. They are one of 16 chapters nationwide that are involved in the PHA. Not only does this association help by gathering these members and people of similar interests, but they are always willing to give back. A scholarship program is offered to the college and trade school students no matter if they are professional, associate or junior members. Helpful AND fair? Sounds a little too perfect, huh? If that wasn’t enough, they also want to raise the standards of horse shows on Long Island. The association offers point classes in 21 divisions. Members then can compete for awards at the end of the year. You learn so much more than horse’s and the sport, this program really strives to push for good sportsmanship in a competitive field. Educating members on conducting a healthy space where there can be friendly competition. Adults and children can learn from others and it motivates you to push yourself a little more. This program also shines a bright light on member recognition. You are currently able to view the 2021 LIPHA High Score Award Winners. You can take a look at the horses as well as the riders and so much more. Scholarships are currently being accepted for their 69th Annual LIPHA Show. This event will be held at Wolffer Estate S tables on the 14th & 15th of May. All the proceeds of this event will benefit the LIPHA Scholarship Fund. As many Long Islanders take to the roads for road trips, and vacations, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reminding everybody during National Tire Safety Month to check their tires to make sure they’re ready to roll. Properly checking and inflating your tires is an important step to help make your tires last longer, save you money and protect you and your family on the road. During The month Of June "Tire Safety Month"  NHTSA is sharing these tips for consumers: Conduct monthly maintenance inspections on your Mercedes-Benz, focusing on proper tire inflation pressure, treadwear and tire damage, in addition to recurring tire rotation and balancing, and alignment services. Proper tire pressure is the most important part of maintaining your tires. It affects safety, tire durability, and your fuel consumption. Check the pressure of all tires, including your spare, at least once a month when the tires are "cold," meaning that the car hasn't been driven for at least three hours. Check your tires' tread at least once a month when you're checking their pressure. Tires have built-in "treadwear indicators," which are raised sections that run in between the tire's tread. When the tread is worn down so that it's level with the tread indicator, it's time to replace your tires. Tire balancing ensures your wheels rotate properly and keeps the vehicle from shaking or vibrating. Always have new tires balanced at installation. Rotating your tires can help reduce irregular wear, which will help your tires last longer and maintain fuel efficiency. To maintain tire safety, purchase replacement tires that are the same size as the vehicle's original tires or another size recommended by one of our factory trained Parts Advisors. You can check for tire recalls and file a tire safety complaint if you think there may be a problem with your tires at NHTSA.gov. Now that may sound a bit odd but, skin care products usually contain moisturizers which is great for organic trim materials. Be aware of which cleaning products you will be using to clean the inside of your vehicle. Staying clean and getting rid of germs is extremely important right now, however you do not want to ruin the interior of your car! Soft Surfaces The CDC recommends using a cleaner that is appropriate for whatever material is being cleaned. Mercedes-Benz has expanded their portfolio of lower-priced front-wheel-drive vehicles which include the GLA, CLA, A-Class and the New 2020 GLB 250 4Matic which makes some question whether or not the Mercedes-Benz brand is losing their luxury vehicle status. However, when you take a closer look at the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4Matic as an example, one will realize luxury comes as standard no matter the model and all its optional additional features. The front-wheel-drive GLB 250 starts at $36,000. Upgrade the GLB 250 with additional features like AMG sport steering wheel, leather seats, heated and ventilated seats, wireless charging mat, and much more and the GLB comes to around $57,475.The GLB 250 can be an affordable vehicle if one turns down all the extra additional features. However, Larry Printz was unsure what to expect from the GLB 250 without all these extra features. He wondered if the model would still be a luxury vehicle without the $17,880 worth of luxurious and high-tech additions. “Climbing inside the cabin, front seat occupants are greeted by the same long twin screen display seen in tonier siblings. It's dazzling and helps offset the sea of hard plastic surfaces that diminish the interior's opulent touches, one of which is the new version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment software. With that in mind, we have made several moves in our business in response to the threat of the coronavirus. We have ramped up cleaning services at our stores and are adding hand sanitizer at the front entrances and at all cash registers. Sanitizing wipes are near workstations and counters so that employees can keep them continuously cleaned. We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the virus. We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick or are returning from an area of the world identified as posing a coronavirus-related risk. Per CDC recommendations, we will ask employees who have traveled to such locations or have been exposed to others who have traveled to such locations to self-quarantine for 14 days. A strict travel policy for our employees is in place, and we have canceled meetings with large gatherings, again to do what we can to help prevent the spread of the illness.
