Our Long Island Story Began in 1962
Our story began in 1962 with our founder, Joseph C. Buzzetta. Known to family and friends as Joe, he was a lifelong car enthusiast, born and raised on Long Island. He worked in every corner of the car business — starting out as a kid washing and polishing cars, and selling his first vehicles at one of the dealerships in his hometown of Huntington at just eighteen years old.
After serving in the military abroad, Joe returned to New York and spent time working in his family’s restaurant, the Bella Vista, in Centerport. But the automotive business was always his first love. His success in auto racing connected him with pivotal people in the industry, and by the early 1960s he had launched his own foray into the car business.
As the decades passed, both the business and the Buzzetta family grew. Joe’s children — Joe, James, and Nancy — joined him and eventually took the reins once he knew the business was in good hands. Later, his grandson James Buzzetta Jr. came aboard and is today a partner. Deeply rooted in the Long Island community, the entire family lives locally and believes strongly in giving back.
The Buzzetta family takes great pride in investing in the community’s betterment, supporting important local institutions such as St. Charles Hospital, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, Celebrate St. James, and Paws of War, among many others. Long-term relationships — with both our team and our customers — are what we value most. We have been fortunate to serve this community for more than six decades, and we would love for you to come see why.
