The Mercedes-Benz EQS from Mercedes-EQ Named Robb Report’s Best Electric Car for 2022!

July 15th, 2022 by

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS from Mercedes-EQ has been awarded the Best Electric Car by Robb Report for 2022! As the first fully electric luxury sedan from Mercedes-EQ, this is a huge honor! As previously stated, this is the first edition of electric luxury sedans from Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-EQ, receiving this award emphasizes a job well researched, designed, engineered and done!

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS from Mercedes-EQ is an innovative masterpiece with S-Class details on every inch of this electric vehicle. The luxuriousness and electromobility of this vehicle does not compromise power and agility. There even is an option to activate the self-opening door feature! With a maximum of 516 digital horses that can go 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, it is clear as to why the Robb Report decided to bestow the Best Electric Car for 2022 award upon Mercedes-EQ.

Versatility cannot only be found within the engine, but within the cargo space as well! This fully electric sedan has 22 cubic feet of cargo space and a whopping 63 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats folded downward! This is almost triple of amount of cargo space that is usually found with the 3 rear seats folded as available seating.

If you’ve been keeping up with Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown and Mercedes-EQ, you are probably familiar with the Hyperscreen with the MBUX Infotainment System! If you are not aware of how striking this technological feature is, let us briefly explain: the Mercedes-Benz Hyperscreen is 56 inches of gently curved glass that is housed on the dashboard, and is the dashboard, of the vehicle. This display utilizes artificial intelligence, an adaptive display and an operating system within it’s 12.3-inch gauge cluster, 17.7-inch central touchscreen, and 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen to present a drive and experience like no other.

A lower center of gravity (due to the battery being mounted under the seated occupants) combines with the “One-Bow” Design not only to lend the electric sedan an optical illusion of sitting lower but helps crisply cut through the air. The Mercedes-Benz EQS from Mercedes-EQ delivers a .20 drag coefficient, which is the lowest of any production car, and, “is significantly better than a large majority of today’s supercars” explains Robert Lesnik, who held the leadership role for the Exterior Design Effort for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS and is Head of Exterior Design at the Mercedes-Benz Group.

Well rounded both physically and spec-wise, this innovative, electric sedan impresses! Robb Report summarizes the next-gen, sustainably gorgeous 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS by Mercedes-EQ perfectly, “a bright, electrified future for Mercedes-Benz while showing just what heritage automakers can do when they set their sights on the EV space.” As the first fully electric sedan from Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-EQ (as well as the flagship electric vehicle for the brand) Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is eager to see how Mercedes-EQ will expand upon this magnificent creation. As companies hone their focus on their Electric fleets, as a dealership and as a consumer, we wholeheartedly look forward to the technology that will flourish as production continues and expands!
