Mercedes-Benz SLC Final Edition Debuts As Roadster’s Colorful Finale

The SLC43 wears a special coat of Sun Yellow paint that harkens back to the shades available on the SLK at launch.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz SLC Final Edition lets the German brand say farewell to its compact roadster by dressing the model up with special touches. Available on the SLC 300 and AMG SLC43, the Final Edition goes on sale in the United States in 2020. As a nod to the color choices available at the SLK's original introduction, the AMG SLC43's body comes exclusively in the bright shade Sun Yellow. For contrast, Mercedes-Benz uses high-gloss black to cover the front splitter, hood vents, fender outlets, door handles, mirror caps, and rear fascia. The roadster rides on matte-black 18-inch five-spoke wheels with a yellow accent around the rims.

So long SLC

If you opt for the SLC 300 Final Edition, the roadster comes in Selenite Grey and wears an AMG Styling front bumper. The door handles, mirror caps, and rear brace are high-gloss black, and the shade also covers the five-spoke 18-inch AMG wheels. The convertible comes standard with the AMG Line package that lowers the suspension by 0.39 inches (10 millimeters) and equips the car with larger brakes with perforated discs. On the inside, both models feature two-tone Black and Silver Pearl leather with gray stitching. Elements like the headrests and steering wheel have textured leather that looks like carbon fiber. The Airscarf neck heater and heated seats come standard. The Memory package remembers the driver's preferences for the seats, steering column, and mirror settings. While known as the SLC currently, the compact roadster's lineage goes back to the introduction of the SLK in 1996. The model featured a folding hardtop that gave buyers some of the extra security of a fixed-roof coupe but retained the ability to stow it in the back so occupants could still enjoy open driving. Mercedes-Benz sold over 710,000 units of the SLC and SLK in the model's lifetime.
