The 1955 300 SLR is more than deserving of the high accolades and recognition. Motorsport Guru Karl Ludvigsen described the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR as "one of the most exciting cars that Mercedes-Benz has ever built." This statement by Ludvigsen is especially true when reviewing the specs of the vehicle, which is only emphasized in combination to the expectations and the technological availabilities of the mid 1950s.
Described by the creator Rudolf Uhlenhaut himself as a "hot-heeled touring car", the name fits the bill!
