The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class incorporated a lot of changes to update what its predecessor offered. The previous E 400 has been removed from the lineup with the E 450 replacing it. Standard features have been reshuffled in its various trim levels.
As for the 2020 Lexus ES, you will find a smooth quality ride with a roomy cabin. This one has a large trunk to carry your belongings as well.
Design & Style
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class combines elegance and modernity from the outside to the inside. It has combined brown and black finishes for its natural ash wood trim. Likewise, it has highlighted many of its cabin components for each element to stand out. It is rugged on the outside, and of course, do not forget how comfortable its seats are inside.
With a capacity to hold up to five people in its cabin, the ES also promises comfort to its users. Thanks to its well-cushioned seats and its whisper-quiet cabin, and there is something to appreciate in this vehicle’s design. While the interior is plush, it would not hurt updating it to include semi-aniline leather, ambient lighting, and wood aluminum trim pieces. This comes with a price, though.
Technology & Safety
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, you will find plenty of great technologies inside. Its 12.3-inch infotainment display can overwhelm you at first, but you will love how it supports all other functions integrated in its COMAND® interface. It has control knobs for smoother console operation. For your safety, you can count on features like pre-collision passenger protection, emergency brake assist, multi-view rear camera, and crosswind assist.
The 2020 Lexus ES, on the other hand, has now added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration as a standard. It is equipped with the Enform infotainment interface which is paired with an eight-inch display. This pairing has been rated as the worst in its class. Safety features include advanced driver aids, like lane tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, road sign assist, daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, pre-collision system, and automatic high-beam headlights.
Performance
Turbocharging the E-Class is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine, which is capable of producing up to 241 horsepower. Under the hood of the 2020 Lexus ES, there is a 3.5-liter, V6 engine that generates up to 302 horsepower. This one is not as fuel-efficient as that of the E-Class though.
The Bottom Line
The E-Class definitely has that rugged charm that gives it some athletic boost on the outside. Inside it, the use of premium cabin materials adds points to it. On top of all these, it is loaded with reliable features too. You will surely love this car for all these reasons.
