2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class vs. 2019 Genesis G80

Offering an extremely reliable set of cutting edge technologies, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class certainly deserves all the attention that it gets from car buyers. It also has supremely comfortable seats for its passengers.

The 2019 Genesis G80 promises to excel as well, although there were no major changes made to this new model. The upscale cabin can make it one of those most sought-after automobiles these days.

Design & Style

Inside the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, everyone will notice how the natural ash wood trim blends well with its brown and black finishes. This combination highlights all other components in the cabin. It is rugged to look at on the outside but it never fails to establish a good character that is handsomely appealing to car buyers.

Gifted with strudy 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as xenon headlights with automatic high beam capacities, the 2019 Genesis G80 also deserves a second look if you are looking for impressive cars. Interior space has been carved to perfection so that it can attract more attention. Note, however, that rear headroom has been sacrificed with the focus on overall interior design. The presence of thick pillars also obstruct outward visibility.

Technology & Safety

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, comes fitted with the standard COMAND® interface which now has a 12.3-inch infotainment display. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Standard safety features include that of the multi-view rear camera, with aids like emergency brake assist, pre-collision passenger protection, and crosswind assist.

The 2019 Genesis G80 also creates a good impression in terms of technology. Smartphone integration is available via its Genesis Connected Services telematics system. Safety features include the more advanced rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning and intervention. Note that the blind spot monitoring system does not include rear cross-traffic alert for this car.

When turbocharged by the four-cylinder engine under its hood, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class only reaches up to a maximum of 241 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 2019 Genesis G80 is equipped with a 3.6-liter, V6 engine, thus allowing it to reach as much as 311 horsepower. Ride quality has been sacrificed in the Genesis with this supposedly powerful result. Even fuel efficiency scores are higher for the E-Class with results of 21mpg and 30mpg for city and highway driving. The G80 only reaches up to 18mpg for city driving and 26mpg for highway driving.

The Bottom Line

There may be facets of the 2019 Genesis G80 that can warm your hearts but it does not come close to what the E-Class can offer. This is the reason behind why many have had their eyes on the Mercedes-Benz.
